Northern Lights
Adapted from Artist and Snowboarder Bryan Iguchi
This custom animation is based on the artwork of Northern Lights, a painting created by snowboarding legend Bryan Iguchi. Mountains are depicted above a vast sea of the universe, which represents their overwhelming presence in our lives. The typography and vector artwork are animated to show the mountains rising from the ground to represent the uplifting of geologic time, and the letters fall from the top like snowfall upon the mountains.

Our creative direction was to bring attention to this singular piece of artwork, in order to create more content for social media and digital platforms. By taking ideas from the original artwork and creating a short animation, the artist was able to promote the launch of this new piece on social platforms that added motion to the campaign. Key learnings also showed that it raised awareness amongst an audience who loves to consume artwork.
